Why community energy generation matters

Community energy generation could help reduce our carbon emissions in Great Bedwyn, as well as reducing energy costs for residents.

Our progress so far

  • We have explored the potential for local community energy generation with a small solar PV farm. This would be difficult because of the substantial investment that would be needed.

  • We are exploring other options including PV panels at the school.

​

  • We held a community meeting about community energy in September 2022.

Plans for the future

We will continue to pursue more solar energy generation, including working to put solar panels on the Great Bedwyn School roof.
